Jen is thrilled to announce that she will be showcasing at the first ever FARMette conference.  FARMette will be held at the Historic Fayette Opera House in downtown Fayette, Ohio on April 28, 2012.

Jen is off to FARM as an Official Showcase Artist this weekend.  If you're in or around Chicago, come on down, buy yourself a Taste of FARM pass and enjoy a weekend of folktastic music!  Jen has showcases every day, with the Official Showcase at 8:40 pm on Friday, September 23rd.

Next weekend Jen joins Brother Sun, R J Cowdery and many more of her favorites for a weekend of Musical Mayhem at SWRFA in Austin, TX.  If you loved Jen at Kerrville New Folk these past two years, come out out and get some more.  Jen plays three showcases on Friday, September 30th!

Jen has been selected to perform two of her new songs in the 2010 Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival (SMAF) Songwriting Contest!  If you're anywhere near Havre De Grace, MD, mark your calendar for Mother's Day Weekend!

 

INIDIEGRRL FINALIST!

 

Jen's song "Cannonball Girl", from the upcoming CD, has been selected as a finalist in the 2010 Indiegrrl Songwriting Competition.  Winners will be announced on April 30th!

NEW CD COMING SOON!

 

Jen and longtime producer John Jennings convened in Virginia at the beginning of February to start recording Jen's fourth CD, "Cannonball Girl", which we hope to release in June (Yes, June!). With Snowmageddon looming, we hunkered down to record the first three tracks, packing up to leave as the first snow began falling. We were so happy with the rough mixes we decided to play them for you here at jencass.com!

BABY DANNY IS HERE!

 

Congratulations to Jen and hubby AJ on the birth of their second child!  Danny was born at 2:15am on May 3, 2007.  He was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  Jen, AJ, Danny and big sister Julia are all happy, excited and doing very well!

Jen took home the big prize at the 2007 Detroit Music Awards last night when "Accidental Pilgrimage" was named OUTSTANDING ACOUSTIC/FOLK RECORDING OF THE YEAR!  We want to thank everyone who worked on the album, the Motor City Music Foundation, and everyone who voted this year!  Jen is thrilled to be a DMA winner!

Despite being banned in several markets, "Dear Mr. President", the first single off "Accidental Pilgrimage", generated enough radio play to finish the year at #26 on the 2006 Folk Singles Chart. Special thanks to all the wise folk DJs who bravely spun the song, and to Sing Out! Magazine for featuring the song in their winter edition!   

 

JEN WINS THE GRAND PRIZE IN THE GREAT LAKES SONGWRITING CONTEST!

 

Congratulations to Jen on being named the Grand Prize Winner in the 2006 Great Lakes Songwriting Contest. Jen entered five songs, all of which recieved at least an honorable mention, and one of which,"Small Town Boy" received the top honor!

 

JEN'S A BIG WINNER IN BOSTON!

 

Congratulations to Jen on winning two top honors at The Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest this year!  Jen won the coveted "Crowd Pleaser" award, for the artist most loved by the audience, and took second place in the juried portion of the contest.  Thanks to UMass Boston and WUMB for a wonderful evening!
